1-22-2004 Two things today. First I work with a couple guys that built their own jet engine in their garage; GarageJet.com. Secondly Jay Harrell wants me to put a picture that he made on my site somewhere. I'm not really sure where to put it, so here it is.

1-11-2004 I've got a new site for everyone to check out. TeamConsuelo.com. What is it you ask? Well basically a clan of Rainbow Six 3 gamers on Xbox Live. Another new site I would like to announce is JayHorner.com, It is still under construction, but moving along. The other thing I would like to announce is CycloneGroup.com is going to be redesigned in the near future, so look for that.

12-31-2003 Happy New Year! I have added a new feature to the site. I have modified the Contact Me page so that you may now attach a file that will be emailed to me. I've got a couple more ideas of things I would like to implement, so look towards those in the coming year. Since it is the end of 2003, I thought I would post a break down of our hits per month for the last year. We set a record at KenMerritt.com this past month with a total of 55,000 hits. Here's to an even better 2004.

12-24-2003 After a trial run, I have decided to get rid of the Google ads. Also Merry Christmas.

12-12-2003 We are trying out something new here at kenmerritt.com. I have long been against sites with ads, since it takes away from the site. However I have been noticing these ads by Google appearing everywhere. I like the way they look because just like Googles ads on their site they are unobtrusive. So I have decided to give them a try. I will try them out on the front page here for a couple days, and then move them to all pages.

11-7-2003 The Matrix Revoloutions sucked. What a terrible way to end what could have been a great trilogy. I can't express how frustrated I was at the end of the movie, I just couldn't believe the weak ending. Why did Smith die? Is Neo dead? Why didn't the Oracle die? How can Neo use his power outside of the Matrix? Why would humans want peace with the machines after what they did? Plain and simple the movie over explained what we already knew and didn't answer any of the important questions. Here are some user comments of IMDB.

11-6-2003 Important update today... Sandy and I have set a date for the wedding. We will be getting married at the Omni Severin Hotel in downtown Indianapolis on Sunday October 24, 2004. The Wedding will be held in the Severin Lobby sometime in the late morning to be followed by Sunday brunch in the Severin ballroom. The actual wedding and reception times will be announced next year after the Colts release their schedule for the season.

10-31-2003 Happy Halloween! Steve told me the other day that my shopping cart on TheWirelessAnt.com wasn't working. Well I got it fixed and decided to make sure the rest of my sites were working. I also fixed an annoying cookie bug under IE6, and a minor problem under the domain registrations of CycloneGroup.com. There was also a problem with this sites search engine but it is fixed also. I have a funny flash movie about the end of the world. Check it out, but beware it takes awhile to load.

10-29-2003 Well I finally got some pictures of all of the house projects that I have been doing all summer. Check out the House Projects page for more info and an explanation of what the pictures are showing you.

10-15-2003 So Sandy and I are sitting around watching the Cubs lose game 7 tonight and I hear this loud crashing sound outside. It's about 9:00pm, so I wonder what it could be. I jump up and look out the window only to see a truck rolled on its side in the street right in front of our house. There is another truck stopped next to it in the road. I called 911 real quick, and as I'm on the phone I can see the guys crawling out of the rolled truck and laughing. Keep in mind I live on a court so I can only imagine what they were doing to roll a truck on it's side. Well anyhow the Brownsburg PD shows up like 60 seconds later (nice response time), and I snap a couple pictures with the digital camera. Not the best pictures but whatever. The guys pushed the truck back on all fours before I could get the camera out, so I don't have any of it on it's side. The truck must have been pretty damaged, because they had to tow it. Now I didn't see what happened but I can only assume they came flying around the corner so fast the truck rolled on it's side. Anyhow they towed the truck and the Cops left at the end of the 8th inning.

9-26-2003 Alright it's been a month, time for another update. Newsflash Microsoft = big fat idiots. So today I am trying to find this tool that I have used in the past called bootvis.exe. I have used it several times in the past on Windows XP to speed up boot times. Well today I go to microsoft.com and search for it and guess what I find. It isn't available anymore. After some digging I find an old copy and run it. Below is what Microsoft has to say about boovis, and below that is a picture of it running. Notice anything wrong with Microsoft's statement?

The Bootvis.exe tool is no longer available from this site.
Please note that Bootvis.exe is not a tool that will improve boot/resume performance for end users. Contrary to some published reports, Bootvis.exe cannot reduce or alter a system's boot or resume performance.

Well gee I wonder where people got the idea that it improves boot performance at? Must be those "published reports". In other news, I had a chance to see Bowling for Columbine and I was very impressed with it. I heard a lot of negative reviews about the movie, and thought it was going to be a pro gun control movie. In fact it was quite the opposite and helped to reaffirm my belief that this nation doesn't need stricter gun control laws. I think a lot of people that watch this movie aren't intelligent enough to understand the message and that's why I see so many ridiculous reviews of people hating the movie. They just don't understand it's message. So by all means go see the movie, and if you don't like it that's fine. But don't post bad reviews just because you don't understand the movies message. I would talk about it more, but I don't want to spoil it for anyone.

9-1-2003 Very important update today. I have finally been able to figure out the whole Halo problem we have been experiencing. I now understand the problem and I am going to post it here for anyone else who can't figure out why they can't system link Halo for the Xbox. The problem appeared the first time we tried system linking two Xboxes together. Neither Xbox would see a game created on the other Xbox. I scoured the web looking for problems playing Halo and I could find no reference to anyone else having the problem. We then called Microsoft and the person there explained that their is a known issue with certain versions of Halo not working with other versions. After a lot of testing I am now going to post which versions of Halo work, and which don't work. You have to flip the Halo DVD over and look for some very small print near the center of the disc. It will start of as MS00xxxx. From what I have seen my version is MS00402A, and Steve's version is MS00408A. These two versions work fine together. However a copy we rented from blockbuster, and a copy that Wysocki has are both MS00407A, and this version won't work with 402A, or 408A. So in conclusion, MS00407A sucks and won't work with any other version other than another copy of 407A. If you have MS00402A, or MS00408A then you won't have a problem. Microsoft is swapping out MS00407A, but you have to call them.
